Frequently Asked Questions
What to expect when you work with MRS for research help
What are your working hours?
My typical working hour,s are 9 AM-5 PM MST Monday-Friday. I'm happy to attend early morning or evening meetings during the week as long as I have three days' notice. If you are in a different time zone, I can adjust my hours as needed to attend meetings and submit project deliverables.
I submitted a request for a consultation. What happens next?
During this meeting, I will ask questions about your organization, project ideas, and project goals. This meeting is also an opportunity for you to learn more about me and ask me questions about my experience.
After the initial consultation, I will draft a scope of work based on our conversation. The scope of work will include tasks to be done and the estimated service fee. You and your team will have time to review it and make suggestions/edits. Once both parties agree to the scope of work, I will send the final version and a contract for your signature. Also, this is a great time to send me any HR paperwork I need to fill out!
Once the paperwork is complete, it is time to get to work! You will receive a detailed project plan that includes milestones and deadlines. We can also set up a communication plan for check-in meetings for the project's duration.
How much do you charge?
When you receive your scope of work, it will include an estimated fee. I base the cost on how many hours I think I will need to complete each project milestone. Typically, I charge $65-$75 an hour, depending on the complexity of the project and the timeline.
If you decide that you need additional services after the contract is signed, I will send you an updated scope of work for your approval.
What are your payment policies?
I will work with you to determine a payment schedule that works best for your organization. The two most common options are:
Pay ½ of the fee upfront and ½ of the fee at the end of the project
Pay per project milestone completed
Payments are due within 14 days of receiving the invoice.
What's the best way to reach you?
Email is the fastest way to reach me (firstname.lastname@example.org). Clients can also contact me via phone, but I prefer to schedule calls in advance whenever possible.
