MASSACHUSETTS CHILDHOOD TRAUMA TASK FORCE

Massachusetts Office of the Child Advocate

Conducted extensive literature review about childhood trauma, its effects on physical and mental health, and current interventions for children and families
Designed, tested, and distributed a survey to providers statewide regarding the types of trauma-informed interventions they use with children
Provided project updates to task force members on a monthly basis
Wrote a report for the Massachusetts state legislature with the results of the survey and recommendations for future policy interventions, with feedback from members of the Task Force

Massachusetts Office of the Child Advocate

Conducted 50-state landscape analysis to determine best practices for child fatality review (CFR) programs
Developed interview protocols for members of the state CFR team and the local CFR teams to get their feedback on how the program functioned
Scheduled and conducted interviews with all local team leaders (Assistant District Attorneys)
Developed and analyzed a survey for state team member to provide their feedback
Wrote two reports with findings and recommendations for the state and local programs
Worked with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health on implementation strategies
Invited to present at the National Center for Fatality Review and Prevention's 2018 conference

Sapien Labs, Washington DC

Conduct research for blog posts using existing data from the organization and outside sources
Write two 750 word posts per month, typically including information about the organization's Mental Health Quotient tool
Topics include: population-level mental health, young adult mental health, differences in well-being by gender, and mental health in the workforce.
